Surviving the infodemics: ComplexityJam

Surviving the infodemics: ComplexityJam

Between 29 May – 5 June the INDCOR project members together with Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, Budapest organized for the first time COMPLEXITYJam. The online game jam was taking place on itch.io platform and its hashtag was #survivingtheinfodemics.

The organizers choose this topic as the COVID-19 pandemic is also an infodemic, a constant onslaught of information in the forms of news pieces, social media postings and private conversations. More than 75 participants from 12 countries and 15 partner universities registered to the game jam, with 12 submissions received.

The jury of the game jam was composed of international game and interactive digital narrative professionals: Janet Murray (Georgia Institute of Technology, US), Lindsay Grace (University of Miami, US), Szabolcs Józsa (Nemesys Games, HU), Odile Limpach (Cologne Game Lab, DE), Simon Meek (The Secret Experiment, UK).

The winning team will be invited to present their design at a future COST-INDCOR meeting in March 2021. The games produced during the game jam will be used by INDCOR Cost Action for research purposes.
